Thank YOU for helping the diaper bank surpass all our goals in 2021.
Between January and December, we distributed free sanitary supplies to 962 public schools & universities, community service agencies, disaster relief organizations, and struggling families in the ArkLaTex.
Our neighbors in need received:
• 91,645 diapers & 1,342 packs of baby wipes
• 49,816 period pads, tampons, and menstrual cups
• 21,949 incontinence supplies (briefs, pads & bed pads)
Did you know that public assistance programs like WIC & SNAP do not cover the cost of these basic sanitary supplies, and Medicaid covers them only when a doctor prescribes them as part of a medical treatment plan?
When these supplies are provided at no cost, our neighbors can use their financial resources to cover essential food & housing expenses, while maintaining their health and dignity. This also alleviates period poverty among public school & college students, keeping them in classes they would have otherwise missed due to their inability to afford basic menstrual supplies.
Thank you again for supporting the diaper bank - and for loving your neighbors in a very meaningful, tangible way!
